Privacy & Security

What is Rakuten's privacy policy?

Rakuten takes privacy and security very seriously. We know that protecting member privacy is essential to our success. For more information, please review the Rakuten Privacy Policy.

Is my credit card information secure?

Yes. We comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard with respect to the environments we use to process, store and transmit payment card information to ensure your credit card information is processed securely.

Are my transactions through Rakuten secure?

Yes. We set strict standards to work only with stores providing high levels of security and using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Internet connections to protect the integrity of your transaction.

Will you sell information about me or my purchase habits?

No. For more information, please review the Rakuten Privacy Policy.

What are cookies and why are they important?

Cookies are text files that allow a site to recognize you when you return. This means you don’t have to log in again and again. They are also required to track your Cash Back. Cookies are enabled by default with most browsers. If you disable cookies, some parts of the site may not work optimally and your Cash Back may not be tracked properly.

Will I start receiving spam if I join?

Rakuten sends two types of emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails any time.

  1. Transactional emails. These are required to keep you up-to-date on your payments and account information (like when Cash Back is added or you received a payment).
  2. Marketing emails. These let you know about the latest deals and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails any time in your Account, or by selecting Unsubscribe at the bottom of the email. We will not sell your information to any third party.
